Hey Guys! So, Baby Girl has finally turned six months a few weeks ago! If you haven't already, please check out my Four Month Old Routine post because things have changed a lot. Now, at six months, my husband and I always say, "This is what we imagined when we thought baby"! She crawls, babbles, gets into messes, eats baby food, and most important of all, sleeps through the night! Of course, we are now also struggling with separation anxiety and transitioning from three to two naps (failure), and early morning wakings! So, things are definitely not rainbows and sprinkles, but much more predictable than at four months. This is definitely not our ideal schedule, but it's what she gives us!
6:30-7:00 | GOOD MORNING
Recently we have been dealing with early morning wakings, but basically she wakes up between 6:30-7:00. My husband will usually let her play and hangout in her crib until 6:45-7:00, but I'll grab her because she never goes back to sleep. I just try to push her wake windows a bit. We change her diaper and sing the morning song!
7:00-7:30 | PLAY TIME
While I cook breakfast, take temperatures, finish getting ready for work, etc. She plays on the floor. She can crawl now, so she's all over the place, so once I finish cooking, I'll scoop her up and she'll hang out on my lap as I eat.
7:30-8:00 | MEAL TIME
Baby Girl is weaning now! She eats pureed food my husband makes by hand. She has really grown to enjoy it, but with the early morning wakings, sometimes she's too hungry to wean and instead will reject it until we feed her the milk, but she'll finish eating her food afterwards.
8:00-9:30 | MORNING WALK AND PLAY
I'm off to work at this time, but my husband will often go for a short morning walk with her and when they get back, she'll play while he hangs the laundry and washes the dishes.
9:30-11:30 | NAP 1
Nap 1 is usually a breeze. We lay her down, say "goodnight", and she's out within a few minutes. Her naps average around 1 1/2 hours for the first.
11:30-12:00 | MEAL TIME
After her nap, she gets another milk bottle and we change her diaper.
12:00-2:30 | PLAY TIME & OUTING
After her meal, my husband will play with her, such as read or take out her more stimulating toys. if we have an outing planned, it's usually during this time.
2:30-4:30 | NAP 2
This nap is tricky. We are still trying to figure out the 3 to 2 nap transition. She rejects the third nap, but doesn't seem to be 100% ready for two naps... She often tries to reject this one (sometimes successfully) or it takes her a while, with lots of fighting and crying, for her to go to sleep. If she does sleep, she'll sleep for 2 hours or more!
4:30-6:30 | PLAY TIME
This is the time we either put her to bed early if she skips her second nap or we play and I come home from work! She gets a bit fussy during this time (Doesn't want to be put down), so we just hang out.
6:30-7:00 | BATH AND MEAL TIME
I get home around 6:15, so I'll bathe her if she isn't too fussy and get her ready for her last milk bottle of the night.
7:30pm to 7:00am | GOODNIGHT
Going to sleep is also a breeze. She has started whining after we finish the good night song, but it only last literally 2 seconds. She now sleeps through the night, but recently she did poo and woke up crying, so that was fun lol.
Other than that, our days look like this! She will go to nursery school starting this Thursday, so I'm sure things will be soo different come 7 and 8 months! So, I'll see you then!
