WHAT IS ON MY DAUGHTER'S BUSY BOARD

A few months ago, I finally buckled down and made a busy board for my daughter for her first birthday! You can read all about my adventure here, but one thing I didn't do was go into great detail about what I put on the board. If you haven't read how I create the board and where I sourced my items, please check out the blog post here!

At one years old, my daughter is fascinated with buttons and, of course, things with tiny parts. While I didn't want to include anything that could possibly be a choking hazard if it broke off, I did put some dangly items to entice her!

Keep reading to see what else I put on the board!

TIMER

My daughter absolutely loves her timer. She takes it off and you can hear her beeping all around the apartment. The only issue with the timer is that she randomly sets it down and then it goes off, sometimes an hour, later! Not good for the middle of the night, right?

SERVICE BELL

The service bell is another favorite of hers. She dings it a few times for the sound, but I know she wishes she could take it off!

WHEEL

I included a wheel on her board because my daughter is obsessed with them. I can't take her out of her stroller or give her a toy with wheels before she is trying to flip it over! I don't know what it is but she has a unique fascination with the structure of it and how it works.

TISSUE BOX

Every child loves to have what I call a "shu shu" party! My daughter is a master at emptying her tissue box, her wipes, or whatever else she can get her hand on! So, including a tissue box with handkerchiefs was a no brainer.

ZIPPER

I also included a zipper one the board because she one day will be obsessed with them. There is also a dangly cord with a key-chain that she loves to pull around as well.

RETRACTABLE CORD

Since the dangly cord can be a bit underwhelming, I also opted for a para-cord. She loves to pull it to its limit and watch it go back! I added a cute key-chain on it to double the fun.

LIGHT SWITCH

I added a light switch that is similar to the ones we have at home, but unfortunately, the light is just way to bright so there is no battery inside. So, she doesn't play with it as much as I thought she would.

CALCULATOR

Next to the light switch is a calculator. I wish it made sounds, like the timer, but she'll push a few a buttons here and there. Finally there are more stretchy cord bracelets and a wipes top to help her push buttons. I am thinking of adding a gel pack inside or our picture to make it really fun to open and close it!

These are boards one and two, and I am thinking of making a third board. However, I haven't had the chance to get out and get the materials since we've been so busy! I'm thinking of making it for her for Christmas, so stay tuned!
